The Tri- County Regional Planning Commission is directed by a full board that includes 19 voting representatives from Clinton, Eaton, and Ingham Counties, the City of Lansing, the region's other largest population municipalities, area road and transit agencies, and the Michigan Department of Transportation. The highest elected official of each County and the City of Lansing are ex officio board members. TCRPC Commissioners are elected and appointed officials from the public and private sectors and are appointed to serve on the TCRPC by their member organizations or municipalities. The TCRPC Commissioners elect officers annually in January and the Commission Chairperson appoints Commissioners TCRPC's committees. Please see TCRPC Bylaws for more information. Agendas and materials for meetings are posted and distributed at least 5 business days prior to the meeting.

The Capital Area Regional Transportation Study (CARTS) Technical Committee provides recommendations to the TCRPC regarding regional transportation plans as well as regional transportation problems, issues, and opportunities. The Committee addresses the Regional Transportation Plan (Long Range) and the Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) (short range) project reviews and amendments. They also consider and offer recommendations regarding the Transportation Planning Unified Work Program, the Regional Work Program, urban boundary and system review and designations; and special transportation projects/studies. CARTS members, usually transportation/public works staff, are appointed by their member agency or municipality. The Transportation Review Committee (TRC) is the policy advisory committee to the TCRPC on all transportation planning matters. Their meetings, which are public and accessible, provide another opportunity for input into the transportation planning process. They are responsible for maintaining our regional visions for transportation and guiding the planning processes. The Committee makes recommendations regarding the regional transportation plans, proposed amendments, and projects, as well as other transportation issues of regional concern. TRC members represent the road and transit agencies of the region and are TCRPC Commissioners. They are appointed to TRC by the TCRPC Chairperson each year. This regular task force meets a few times a year to review and establish priorities for Rural Transportation Economic Development Fund projects in the Lansing tri-county region. Members of the task force include representatives of the region's county road agencies and others. The Rural Task Force is advisory and makes recommendations through the CARTS to the TCRPC full Commission regarding rural transportation issues, needs, and programs. 2017 Meeting Dates are set at the will of the Chair and will be posted here.
